Just a note for future referance, I have an account with BOC,And when I told them I was leaving due to the cost they put me on a hobbiest account which is around a 1/3rd of the price for bottle charge and a lower rate for the gas.it saves the hassle of new bottles etc.(my welding instructor would be having a go at me by now."Bottles""thats what milk comes in"

Regards
Phil.

Where have you seen it, I've looked in local shop and online but never found it.
I can get it from a proper welding supplies but at around 300 a roll
Never found a smaller, .8 or 5 kilo roll anywhere.

That sounds like the "Volkzone" offer, they negotiated it a few years ago and now anyone can sign up for it. There's a couple of other companies doing hobby gas offers too.

I had a letter from BOC last month telling me that as I'm a low amount user my next cylinder is free as long as I change it during the next 12 months. I only have argon from them nowadays.

The only thing i ever got from BOC apart from higher prices was a letter saying that they care about their smaller users. That was just before another letter saying. to the effect, that due to the demand for smaller bottles they were having to make more & therefore the price would go up--(again) Fortunately this was just before i was to renew my rental. So i took my bottles back & told em where to stick em. (Dont know if they managed it) I'll never deal with BOC ever again. Perhaps they're waking up to the fact that robbing their smaller customers isnt a good idea.

I'm sure i saw a small roll in Machine Mart a couple of times ago. I wondered then how Mig brazing would work. Just looked in their catalogue & theres no sign of it.
