Default Hi From Hampshire

I'm new to the forum and the world of stationary engines generally though I've been restoring lawnmowers for several years now so hopefully some of that knowledge is useful! I also help run an old car forum elsewhere on the internet.

I'll put up a thread about the unit I got last weekend in the 'Engine Identification' thread - I don't know what it is, but it looks similar to pictures of a JAP Model 5, except it is missing several critical ancilliaries. I have been told it might be a Villiers C12 too.

I hope someone might be able to identify what it is, and more importantly what is missing so I can get it up and running

Welcome aboard, my first engine was a C12

If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's an electrical problem.
