I wondered what the bright flash was outside just now, it was that lamp on the top of your head.

Might be a tad small though could you possibly get a photo of it please? If itís substantial enough casting that would work.

I like Martin's gate valve handle - nice chunky look about it. Cut out a cardboard approximation and show it to the rest of the engine before deciding it's definitely too big.

It's a nice looking handwheel, but it will always look like one. I've seen many model engines, mostly steam, using turned down valve wheels. In my opinion they spoil the overall look.

There must be something somewhere that's of use. Failing that, take a leaf out of Mr Paff's book and get into pattern making. That'll while away a cold evening or two.
