Default Another rally besides Dorset.

Just back from a scorching long weekend at Onslow Park, Shrewsbury. Very nice rally, good company, wall to wall sunshine, some very nice engines and managed to add to my "Downsize" collection too. ( 1hp Titan, currently in bits) This show didn't seem to be mentioned up to now?? Pictures to follow.

I was at Onslow Park too and agree that it was a great rally with a good selection of engines (85 exhibitors I believe) plus a good display of steam engines and many other vintage attractions.
This was reported as the second largest steam gathering in the country next to GDSF.

I as always under the impression it was about on terms size wise with Welland, Lincoln & Bedford (old Warden).

85 engines, would put it well below Lincoln & Welland in terms of Stationary engines. How many steamers do they get at Onslow?

Welland usually gets 80+ steamers, whilst Lincoln & Bedford get over 100 each.

It's in "kit-form" at the moment, Steve, but I'll post a few pictures when I unload it out of the vehicle.

I believe that several forum members attend Onslow, it does seem to be a good event. Never done it myself, I did inquire a while ago and it was invite only so we usually head down country to the Uffington Whitehorse Show which, like Onslow, is just a Sunday and Monday event but an 'old fashioned' country show with a few engines and other attractions. Dorset has affected that show slightly, a few of the regular exhibitors were missing but there was some new blood there as well which was good to see.

Pete.
