The line shafting is a hell of a set up and very nice to see.
( I would want a road crew to move that lot !!)

I can certainly remember plenty from when I was a kid, but they're uncommon now. Having said that, there are at least two near here:

One is in a farmyard about 1/4 mile from me. It's quite a sizeable item and looks like an Aermotor - it's rusty and doesn't turn.

The other is beside the A46 south of Newark. When the road was being "duelled" about 5 years ago, the contractors had to dismantle the pump, move it about 30 yards sideways, and rebuild it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's "listed"...

Well, it's not running, can't see any tools around it, no bucket for water and none of the normal crap you see strewn about an engine on a rally field so I'd say it's an "entry ticket"...

....... and no, Rob, I don't have one (wind motor, that is), although I did toy with buying one 10 or so years ago but decided the neighbours might object to it in the garden.
