Guess so, I'm not very good at that sort of thing.

Take it you will be at ¬Enstone?

Have you seen the price of WD silencers on eBay..... a Bental exhaust must be much more rarer than one of they, must be at least £5.50 ;)

Better to find a good home for stuff that's just hanging about though Steve and I guess Daz has a Bentall in need.

EDIT; Seems Daz was pulling my leg and has made a higher offer off-list - considering I flog bearings for a living, I really am dreadful at selling anything engine related! :-(

Yup! ...although the 4 rivets are unusual, perhaps the fasteners had to be moved for some reason. Could be original or could be Ray Kings.

Don't tell everyone, Nick. My reputation for being tight will be blown!

I have considered that as its cheap and easy but not too sure I want to risks bits of stainless stuff falling down the pipe into the exhaust port.

Just got hold of a Petter style exhaust pepper pot with a 1" bsp male thread at a boot fair for a fiver so once I get hold of a 1" bsp female/female joiner I'll unscrew the traditional top hat and screw the pepper pot on and see if it makes any difference. It will only be for use in my garden and I can screw the original top hat back on for the shows. Watch this space.

Have you tried backing off the exhaust valve tappet screw as I've suggested? It makes a world of difference.
