Default Stolen/Fake Gas Engines

Detectives from the Norfolk Constabulary are currently involved in an investigation concerning the theft of Gas Engines and matters relating to the authenticity of other engines.

Officers are keen to speak to any collectors who may have purchased Inverted Crossley Slide Valve Engines in the past 3-4 years or anybody else who may have information relating to this investigation.

Well it looks like these crimes have not been forgotten after all.Thanks Hotbulb.It has amazed me at how quiet the UK sites are on this,when world wide the net is buzzing about it! We should stand up against this type of thing,not brush it under the carpet.It encourages these people who ever they are. One site just lifts every thing off that dares to mention it,very sad. John

Peter, the crimes referred to are the Anson Museum thefts (allegedly the stolen rotory valve Crossley has turned up in America). A Crossley vertical slide valve reproduction has allegedly been supplied to the same American collector as an original.

iT'S REALLY NICE FOR THIS TO HAVE BEEN MADE A STICKY.SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HURT.NICE TO KEEP IT IN THE PUBLIC EYE SO THE AUTHORITIES DON'T FORGET THEM.

OK, these are the ones from a few years ago? I remember sending off some money to Stationary Engine magazine for that one, haven't heard about anything since.

I would have thought that such a rare engine would be relatively easy to prove the identity of once found. they dont come along every five minutes, and i suspect that it isnt light either.
