Default New toy (Westbury Wyvern)

A couple of weeks ago I decided to treat myself to an early Christmas present. A nicely made Westbury Wyvern.

The outfit will eventually be tidied up, a new cooling tank fabricated and a new base made to repalce the horrid checkerplate, but for now I am leaving as is whilst I complete other projects.

miley_bob, a very interesting exhibit. I have a 'doubled up' Westbury Wyvern which I rallied for a couple of seasons many years ago, but I don't recall ever seeing another one.

Nice engine.

There is a patterned version which doesn't have raised bits, I prefer that to the raised stuff, but apart from that I don't mind it, it tidies up a fairly large area and takes a lot of wiping over which paint doesn't always do.

Black phenol sheet can look nice as well.

I like the chequer plate too but this isn't my engine.
What a beauty, I'd love something like this one day. It would stay on the dining room table, no matter what the wife said!

I'm to busy looking at the engine to worry about the checker plate...

Cheers Steve
