As for the 'matching' registration plates this came in about 5 years ago and relates to all including agricultural machinery.
I get very suspicious about these ‘law unto themselves’.
It’s just a roomer that they spread to make themselves seem more important.
If they are a law unto themselves then it must have been past by parliament.
I always ask for the quoted law in writing (with references) just to make sure!

Maybe put it out to tender to increase competition, drive down prices and give more options.
We could pay monthly by DD and have an easy way to switch suppliers.
No doubt an APP would be introduced so we could check how things are getting along.

No doubt the government would then create another quango in order to create Kpi's to measure the performance of the contractor.

followed swiftly by an investigatory bureau in order to maintain order within the contractor and to keep up performance, they will probably be called the ARMY (Authority for Really Monitoring You).

then the next government will decide that it would be easier if ARMY did the job instead, as they would not have to make profit over the government.

Of course, even better why not just become the 52nd state ! Cheap fuel, borrow as much as you like even if the country is near bankruptcy and get cheap chinese goods on unlimited credit. The US military could manage defence and park their nuclear powered carriers at Pompey or Faslane. You know it makes sense !

Isn't this thread supposed to be about trailer law? Nice to see that once again we have veered wildly off topic.

If you have an accident due to un-roadworthy trailer tyres your insurance Company probably won't pay out, for damage caused, damage sustained and neither for the load carried, we all know how insurance Companies will try to avoid paying out claims for the slightest reason they can find. If you do any trailer towing and are covered to do so, read the conditions on your policy schedule, if they are a bit vague ask your agent or broker to supply you with their full conditions.

Credit where it's due Mike, it did go well past the usual 3 pages that a thread normally takes to go completely off topic!
