Default Lister CS radiator cooled

Hello all would any one on here no if all radiator cooled lister cs had a R in the ser number as mine doesn't so was wondering if it was fitted after it left the factory. It all looks original

Depends on how old the engine is. Very early models often didn't have the full use of the accessory letters.

its a1949 it was supplied to braham Patterson and benham off middex on 16-9-1949 can not find this firm now. it would have been nice to no what it ran

Google shows up some information, according to Graces Guide:

Being radiator cooled your engine was probably fitted to some piece of portable road-making plant.
