Default Forum Crank Up

We went through the motions of this a year or so back, but it never really got resolved due to the varied requirements of members in respect of a date to hold it on.

We have 3.5 acres of pretty flat grazing pasture which is on the B645 betweem Higham Ferrers (A6) and Eaton Socon (A1) We can move the nags to the small pasture next door, there is 1.67 acres that will be fine for the weekend.

So we have a location, we can lay on water in tanks, the access is good, and with that much space there is no problem with tents or caravans.

Weather-wise, it needs to be May to September, weekend would be best, but we could take people into the field on the Friday if that was better for those coming long distances.

We need to sort out a date that most are happy with if it is to go ahead, without that it is not going to work.

That's a great idea Peter, I would definately go if it weren't on the other side of the country. Maybe if someone down this way has the facilities to host a crank up...........

Think the best thing would be to name a date.

And I will come unless it clash with Henham, Astle or Horham

It isn't going to be ideal for lots of folk, but East Midlands location isn't far off central to the UK and covers the bulk of the South and Midlands:

Birmingham: 66 miles
Coventry: 49 miles
London: 72 miles
Lincoln: 84 miles
Manchester: 148 miles
Hull: 129 miles
Derby: 78 miles
Telford: 95 miles
Chester: 143 miles
Crawley: 125 miles
Southampton: 126 miles
Bristol: 153 miles

So a 125 mile radius from Chelveston would cover at lot of our members.

Between 80 and 90 miles for me, nearer than Astle, plus I should know everyone there, funny hat or not!

I'm in

There are no houses or farms within a mile at least, it is pretty much isolated from housing etc, just a bit of traffic down the road and the hosses looking over the fence, pleading hunger

So noise and smoke not an issue, Petter M's welcome!

No mains power either, but many of us will have generators running as part of their display if anyone needs 240V for anything.

No matter how hard you try, there will always be clashes.

To start the ball rolling let me suggest 1 & 2 June. The eastern counties clashes are Woolpit and Rockingham (formerly Belvoir).

If it's that weekend I'm in.
