That style of dating was Post 1950.

The three types of dating are on our website:

The production years table is the fourth item down.

The mirror site on stationary-engine.co.uk has the same information but due to a hosting change there are pages not available (Linux rather than Windows server)

The injection pump should have a two-character date code on the type label, that will give you a fairly close date check:

The engine production year tables have known inaccuracies, don't get too hung up on that, use the hardware.

The flywheel is a bit unusual to have two sets of numbers, no answer for that.

Thanks again, Peter. Much appreciated. It's dark here now, and raining (about an inch of rain this afternoon), so I'll look for the date code on the injection pump tomorrow.

CAV Codes:

T is the year code for 1952
U is the year code for 1953
V is the year code for 1954

B is January
C is February etc

1952 BT CT DT ET FT GT HT JT KT LT MT NT
1953 BU CU DU EU FU GU HU JU KU LU MU NU
1954 BV CV DV EV FV GV HV JV KV LV MV NV
