I don't think you can lay the blame for that one at the feet of the rally organisers (if of course that was the implication) - I believe anyone can set up a page pretty easily resulting in the current proliferation of similar 'special interest' groups vying for our attention.

All of the pages appear to be managed by Tina Staton, who I believe is the rally Secretary.

So why yesterday's name change of one of the groups from "1000 engine rally" to "Five Counties Vintage Machinery Organisation Ltd Vintage Engine Rally" then? I assumed that it was a recognition that the long-standing rally name was no longer relevant, as suggested by Putt Putt http://www.stationary-engine.net/for...7&postcount=59

Maybe its because there is a Vintage rally held on the same site later on.

Run by the same organisation?

Perhaps I'm reading too much in to it, but I wish people wouldn't make changes to things without explanation.

EDIT; Web site links to newly named FB page too http://www.1000engines.co.uk/ - I really do think they are re-branding

According to the website, the "Astle Park Traction Engine Rally" in August is "organised" by "Outdoorshows".

1000 Engine Rally is "organised" by FCVMO.

1000 engine has no connection with outdoor shows.
