Any forum members going to the Stourport vintage steam rally this weekend?

I watched a programme on the box last week about Spitfires, and there were a few ex-BOB pilots being interviewed. One of them who had flown Spits and Hurri's said that comparing the two was like comparing a Racehorse with a Carthorse!!!

This is a fair comparison! There are, however, many situations where a carthorse would be more useful than a racehorse!

Let it never be forgotten that in the early years of the war, the Hurri could out-climb and out-turn the Spit, and was the mainstay of the RAF during the Battle of Britain. The Spitfire became the most important and successful fighter in the later years, but those later years would not have occured if we had not prevailed in the early years!

The Hurri is easier to fly, and much better engineered than the Spit. None of this subtracts from the fact that the Spitfire is gorgeous!

I'll put up a thread in the rally photo's section once I've sorted them, but here's an unusual one, 2 engines needed to drive a small Lister pump
