Smile Lister Ld1 Pegson sludge pump

Hi dewds!

Recently aquired a Lister Diesel LD1 (Serial: 5614 LD19) 2.H.P @1200 R.P.M engine attached to a Pegson sludge pump via a David Brown Radicon gear reducer/box thing! Looking at restoring the beast with my 5 year old son. If any one has any info/ tips/ hints etc I'd be glad to hear them.....this is my first stationary engine project! Regards Matt

You cant beat a LD or LR1 engine

I can't tell you much about your LD1 pump outfit other than the engine number dates it to 1959 - if you didn't already know.

Thanks folks! This is a cool forum......
Thanks for the engine date Nigel, I only had a rough idea how old the thing was when I aqquired it but now it has a nice home for it's 50th birthday! Despite it's scruffy rusty tin cowling, several layers of paint have sealed the internals nicely....
