Default Vacuum pump oil???

I've acquired a Manus vacuum pump, what oil should I use to lubricate it.

not being used for milking setup just running at shows etc so not many hours per year either.

proper milking pump oil seems pretty expensive.

I thought sae 30 classic oil would suffice as its not under power stroke load that an engine would be.

Any advice would be appreciated.

S.A.E 30 will do the job, the Manus pumps warm up nicely when working and seem to get plenty of oil at the top end even at low speeds.

'Proper' oil is probably food grade oil which is not needed for display purposes.

Smile vacum pump oil.

Hello just for information at my work we have a vacuum pump that provides the vacuum for lifting 6. 2 kg bags of ice into boxes. The oil we use is leybonol 130 special oil for vacuum pumps. it is a mineral oil. We also have to use a food safe oil in our compressor which is expensive and has a short life.
