Default First Petter Two-Stroke

We have bought our first two-stroke Petter engine

Thanks to Phillip (air-cooled) for the heads-up and help with communications, we were in Holland when this cropped up.

It is an 18/21hp, a bit of a beastie, but it has been stored in a working workshop for probably 25 years that we have known it, and not run in that time.

We are going to go over on Saturday to assess how to move it, it weighs around 2 tonnes. I will take my camera and get some pictures.

Wow, you weren't kidding about big and oily! I'm guessing this one is destined to be securely bolted to the world rather than hauled around shows?

It won't be as easy to move around, perhaps a dedicated trailer and it would be within the 3.5 tonnes limit for the Discoveries, or if my driving licence gets renewed (still in the queue according to DVLA) we could get back onto the Mercedes and tow it with that, giving us accomodation as well for the longer distance events.

Bolted securely to the chassis of a period correct lorry would be nice, and be under 7 1/2 tons as well.

Haven't got my C1 licence back yet, been in with DVLA since December 2016.

My licence is "still in the queue" since November Peter, in another four months it is due for renewal again!

I raised that point this morning with DVLA, Pete, they said that the issue date is the date on which it is approved, so you get a full 12 months run on the licence.

I was gonna say what's C1, but just looked at my licence, only ever taken car and bike test but I have C1 which I assume is upto 7 1/2 ton as I have driven, owned and hired them in the past.
