Two things.

1. Peter has stated several times that it is bandwidth which costs rather than storage, which removes the objection to attaching images direct to posts. In fact it may be preferable as file size is automatically limited.

2. You can also embed your attached photo in the body of the post by copying the URL and using the [IMG] feature.

Nick:

Martin did mention the [img] function in his amended post, and while bandwidth is the major cost for the forum, we still need image sizes to be kept to a reasonable size, 1024 X 768 is a good median size for most monitors and tablets.

But only in connection with album and third party hosted images, it doesn't seem to be widely realised that you can link to images attached directly to posts so that they display full size rather than just as thumbnails (quite recently a member admitted that he didn't know that these "useless little images" could be clicked for a larger version!).

I don't think VB 3.8.4 allows that?

I know that VB5 does.
