Junk = cheap

Stall cost = expensive

Margin = low to non existent.

The main reason for stalls reducing at rally's regardless of their stock is stuff can be bought cheaper on the internet, no overheads. I got friendly with a stall holder at Haddenham this last weekend and he was thinking about giving it up for that reason.

We get a good selection of what could be termed Junk stalls at Newby, but we are very well priced on the stalls. Last year I think it was 50 for a 20 foot long pitch, then 1 per foot after that.

When our current trade stewards took over about 6 years ago we were getting 20-25 stalls per year. We now get 75+ stalls (Usually a 15+ junk stalls) which allows us an excellent variety of stuff on offer, to cater for all tastes.

Management of stall costs makes a huge difference, as you have shown.
