I have used POR15 on all my tanks for many years now and haven't had an issue with paint. Just done a Bamford tank with it which is hardeningg off. Then again, I have only really used it to seal against corrosion and not for patching holes. Paint doesn't adhere to POR15 if any is spilt on the outside of the tank though, and don't put the empty uncleaned tin on a worktop as you wont get the blooming thing off again once it sets!
