Is there a way to remove the washer on the valves on the old Stuart turner pumps ? Id like to fit fresh washers but Im afraid of breaking the valve . Any ideas ?

Have a look at this for an idea of a strip down, I have one but its been that long since I stripped it I cant remember, I made new springs for the non-return valves so must have taken the part with the washer apart,

Ive not long cleaned my one out, the rubbers just lift out, nothing to hold them bar the casting above or below the rubbers. No gaskets on the latest ones either

There is a cross on the casting that stops the rubber falling off the metal valve face .
