Default Forum Vbulletin Licence Renwal and VB4.0 Upgrade

The annual licence renewal is coming up shortly, and we also have the option of an upgrade to Vbulletin 4.0 from our existing VB 3.8.4.

We will not be upgrading immediately as there are a number of teething problems with the new software that I don't want to get involved with, so will leave that for a couple of months until it has settled down.

Most if not all add-ons and code enhancements that were valid for the VB 3.8.X will not carry over to VB4.0, which is one of the reasons we never really got into too much graphics on the existing version.

There will be no visual changes when we renew the licence for another year.

Default

Just to let everyone know that the Vbulletin licence for V4.0 has been purchased today, ($195 for the curious) and we will be installing that some time before the 28th January.

When we do the upgrade, the Forum will shut down for a few hours, so expect that to happen one day soon, I'll try and give a bit of notice, and there will be a displayed page giving the details while closed.

Default Update

Update:

We tried to upgrade on Sunday evening, but we have a compatibility issue with the PHP software on the host server.

After a bit of running around, we have rolled back the upgrade to what we had before, and we will try and resolve the issue in the next few days.

seems an appropriate time to thank our founder, "Fozzer" and Peter for stepping into the breach - many thanks to you and theadmin team.
