Default Unexpected discovery

Went out walking yesterday and called into the local steam museum on the way home whilst CFO went shopping next door. Lovely to see some great lumps steaming - gets better every time I call in. Some pictures attached - don't have Ubend account so can't post videos

Just about to leave when I noticed an anomaly. Walking over for a closer look I passed a bloke who had something in a vice which he was beating with a large hammer. I said " That's not a steam engine - it's got a spark plug" Turns out to be a Petter Junior which he had been give for nothing!. Jammy bedstead!
Had a nice chat with him and gave him url for the forum, so if a newbie turns up asking about a Petter Junior you will be ready for him. Engine plate included in pictures - number 46716.

Unfortunately, despite my very best efforts, we still seem to be unable to accept new members...

Hi Martin,

I wasn't suggesting a software issue. I just though that someone on vBulletin Community Forum might be able to offer some advice.
Good luck.

From memory, I think that Peter had started a "thinning out" process but didn't seem to get very far. Looking at the member list there are quite a few who havn't visited in up to 10 years!

Sounds like a 'reminder' email to their contact email may be required - with a month or so grace before account deletion - and perhaps an account recovery 'button' for those who do need it?

Although I have a horrible feeling it wont just be people who have moved away from the hobby who have not deleted their accounts but rather some who have left this mortal coil...so a nastygram may upset some partner who still admins their account to see that their dearly beloveds hobby are closing them down... some sensitivity needed here...

Easiest way is just to delete them. If they havn't visited for up to 10years they are hardly likely to notice.
