Went to the North Staffs and Cheshire TEC today. I have been going for years to all of their events. This one was fantastic. Stationary Engines had their own pen for a change. Lots to see 30 odd steamers, lots of classic cars and of course I mustn't forget the ladies in the café! Next event is the Bonfire party which is a great event in itself.

I didn't realise that they still had stationaries at Klondyke, I thought they knocked them in the head years ago when the field behind the pub stopped being used? Might manage to get there 'one day' in the future, last time I went as a visitor Fred Dibnah was there so that was a while ago.

Yes, Pete; it was a great weekend. I think some five guest steam engines roaded in (no traction engine low loaders here!) making a total of 27 full size engines on site, although it was difficult to be sure of the total as they were all moving around the site and off along the road. There was also a good selection of cars, motorcycles and tractors. There were about seven stationary engines, it was good to see that they had their own secure area, plus the excellent Crossley generating engine from Swythamley Hall in the back of the workshop. There were wood sawing demonstrations and a threshing box on site. Definitely an event to put in the calendar next year.
