On another Forum that I subscribe to, a guy made reference to Imgur, saying that the images seem to have a limited shelf life and seem to disappear without warning. He didn't mention how long the "life" was, though.

As long as you don't rely on image hosting sites to store your pictures you should be OK, I usually have mine saved to the PC, backed up to a cloud service and an external hard drive, but as I've probably got 50+GB of photo's I don't want to lose them
