Hi Dick, my 1930 "Shafty" Lister D was "overpainted" grey when I bought it but had traces of really old "Battleship Grey" paint in all the "nooks & crannies".

It could have been tested weeks ago and the "certificate" held until the car was sold with a full MOT. They are a bit of a farce anyway IMHO.

We used to call them "beads", done with a Swaging machine to stiffen the sheet metal, or to stop it wrinkling during the hot-dip galvanising process.

Yes, I checked on the DVLA website and got that. Also googled "Ferrari replica" and found an advert for the sale of the car. It was sold as a replica, there's a lot of logos under the bonnet too!!

I had a 1040 serial number 95939 which was dated 1927, and a 1075 serial number 94807 dated 1925, so can also confirm the date.
