LT side of the coil should be just a few ohms, HT side around 5-7 kohms...but if you are measure to the ht cap, is the cap suppressed? May be an extra 10k...

Err, well I think you need to excite the field...

Err, well I think you need to excite the field with an external source and the see what comes from the D terminal.....I'd say the 5v you are seeing is due to the residual mag field in the field...

If you think the dyno is running in the wrong direction, then try this test....
Connect rhe D&F terminals together, then connect battery positive to them and the negative lead to the frame...
