But it is all either very slow, or completely unresponsive these days.

Ive not long cleaned my one out, the rubbers just lift out, nothing to hold them bar the casting above or below the rubbers. No gaskets on the latest ones either :shocked:

The 'clip' is just the core of the ht lead, stripped back and tinned.
It's passed through the little hole in the coil tag and bent so it holds onplece.
Just carefully snip the wire and lift away....

It's not the make Phill, but the grade, if it's an old spec the modern fuel, along with the heat will kill it quickly.
Have you tried ordinary armoured clear tube, it's no perfect, but it will last...
