Or look for one of those old Villiers powered generators with a LPG gas regulator on, that will do the trick.

This is propably similar to the correct installation (it's from a Villiers gas conversion set).
It consists of the bottle regulator (on the left) and a second regulator (on the right)...

Martin, there is some information in DWE's Lister D book. Basically you need a particular gas regulator between the gas carb and the bottle regulator.
