Villiers Mk3 Float Bowl Seal

Hi, I'm trying to find the fiber washer seal for the float bowl on a Villiers Mk3 Carb. It's on a Villiers Mk25a.

57mm outside, 52mm inside.

I've ordered what i thought was the correct one but it wasn't which was 50mm outside, 43mm inside.

Thanks Chris

If you are struggling to find one, make one from gasket paper.

Hi Chris,

Have you tried L&S Engineers - they have always been very helpful to me. Maybe they could check dimensions before sending?

I can't believe that with all of the vintage motorcycles/mopeds, horticultural machines, and seagull outboards, out there using Villiers carburettors that there isn't someone making and selling these float bowl rim seals/gaskets.

I've just spent an hour searching for Villiers MK3 carburetors and all of the Villiers sites I've come across dont list one so I searched MK25 engines and they list two carburetors one of which is similar but not the same so I went back to Villiers Services and looked at similar shaped carburetors and they all refer to a bowl gasket, why not use an o ring of thin section but the correct diameter, you may even get a square section one.

I've cut my own out of gasket paper and it's sealed it ok, also got the engine running today which you can see on my post at the Petrol Engine Section.

Thanks for all the help guys.
