Hi, There had been a nice compact two cylinder marine engine up for sale locally on eBay for some time during which the price tumbled as it went unsold.
When the price got down to what I was happy with I ended up buying it.
A major surprise was the offer of a free second badly cracked engine for spares! Also thrown in was a Bosch Dynastart and manuals.

The engine is a tidy little thing and appears to be in very good condition.

The original carb has been heavily bodged and the unit off the spares engine is badly corroded but fortunately a 24T 2 off a Petter A fits perfectly and has allowed me to get it running really well. It sounds absolutely fantastic and is mechanically very quiet... even the gas bottle muffler sounds good.....although I am not convinced about its looks!

I removed the pulley as it was loose on the crank and was not even mounted straight!
Although it runs and sounds well it does get rather hot.

Dan.

I had a couple of these, bought them off a guy in London and eventually sold them to another chap up near Stockton on Tees.

There were manuals etc available online.

Got a feeling they may have been badged as Ailsa Craig engines, I posted on this forum about them:

A freind of mine has an Ailsa Craig Imp. He reckons they only made 5 (I think) prototypes & it never came to production. Anyone heard of the "Imp"-----Nice engine by the way Dan.

Thanks! I will post a video of it running later on, it's interesting to see the comment about their weight in the thread you posed a link to Peter, they are very heavy indeed!
