I've recently had some made at Halfords. OK, You get them while You wait but at a cost!! Had them off ebay too. Took a few days but considerably cheaper, and just as good. 16 per plate at Halfords. Quick look on Ebay says 6.99 for single plate!!

I also get them from ebay. No docs required.

However, make sure the ebay ones are marked with the British Standard BS AU 145d as I read somewhere that this was a mandatory requirement for the plate.

I just walk a few hundred yards down the road to a motor factor, pay a fiver and a nice lass produces a plate. Sometimes it even has the digits in the right place as well, though recently they cocked two up before they got it right! No profit there lads. I have an account so they know me but for 'strangers' they need the V5 plus a utility bill and/or driving license as proof of id. They copy it incase of any Police queries later.

Pete.

All of which has had how much effect on those bent on nefarious activities? Probably none, merely added yet another embuggerance factor to those of us who just want to try and make the best of this brief interruption to an eternity of non-existence.
